Daijan and Julian's Islington wedding

It’s always such a compliment when past clients recommend me to their family and friends.  That’s exactly how I ended up being the wedding photographer for this lovely couple Daijan and Julian.  I’d previously photographed about 5 of their guests’ weddings!  Nothing like a good referral – always very much appreciated.  A huge thank you to all of them.

Daijan and Julian chose Islington Town Hall to get married, an impressive location for any London wedding.  We used the local fashionable Upper Street area for the photos, as you’ll see some of the shots with the palms could almost be in LA.  Although typically for the UK, we spent the day dodging showers so decided to have a bit of fun and make the most of the quirkiness London has to offer.  I especially like the shots of the couple outside the local chippie!

The wedding was mainly a mixture of Italians and Chinese as the groom’s mum is from Italy.  The reception was a “slap up” Chinese banquet but the couple requested that I kindly didn’t photograph that part of the day.  Shame I didn’t get to tuck into the 40 courses on offer!

I hope you’re all enjoying reading my blog and are having a great summer so far…

Weddings very much in vogue…

Hot off the heels of the wedding of Wimbledon Champ Novak Djokovic to his childhood sweetheart last week, it was reported in the BBC News only yesterday that after decades of decline, getting married is more popular in the UK than ever (based on figures from the Office for National Statistics).

And I can certainly vouch for that!  It’s been a really fun and hectic few months and I’m so delighted to have been lucky enough to travel all around the country photographing client’s weddings.

This wonderful celebration was no exception.  The couple, Gianna and Christopher, had already got married and chose this fantastic Tythe Barn in Launton, Bicester to celebrate their wedding with family and friends.

The Tythe Barn is a beautiful 14th Century stone and thatched structure with an elegantly rustic interior.  It is a stylish, private and high quality venue; a small family business run with great enthusiasm and dedication by William and Emma Deeley.

With only half an hour to go before the party began and a sunny courtyard as a setting, these are some of the finished photos.  I hope you enjoy them.

Long may the “wedding bug” continue I say!

Thanks,

Roger
