Laura & Matt

Summer at last or was it just a cruel trick and we are to plunged back into the wettest spring on record. Thankfully it was a glorious day.  We started off at the hairdressers for some preparation shots. I could have done with a cut myself but think my hair nowadays just needs the five pound barber treatment.  Anyway it was nice to grab a few shots there before heading off to the house for all the final tweaks and some shots with the bridesmaids. A lovely relaxed atmosphere at home and some nice backdrops in the garden with backlight.
I always try and backlight as much as possible especially on very sunny days as its much more flattering on the skin than looking direct into the sun or sidelit.  Not that these ladies needed it.
We then moved onto St Mary's in Oatlands Weybridge which I must say is one of the nicest churches I have shot in locally.  Also the Vicar is an Arsenal supporter, so top marks there.
Finally onto the reception at Great Fosters.  I have shot loads of weddings there and I always seem to find something a bit different every time. It maybe a change of light due to the time of day or season, but it always inspires me.  This time because the light was quite high in the sky due to the time of year I thought I would try a few landscape shots by the lake and by the avenue of trees at the back. With the light coming filtering through the trees it really works for me.  I love them and think they capture a moment on a beautiful spring day.
A great day for Laura and Matt who are an absolutely gorgeous couple.  They booked me nearly two years ago and I know how much time and effort they put into the day.  It really showed and hope that my images bring back loads of happy memories.

Helen & Tony 19th May 2012

The day started at Tony's parents house in North London.  It was busy busy busy !  with loads of relatives stressing the poor groom out.  Nothing that a glass of champagne or three could not sort out though.  I grabbed a few shots of Tony leaving the house with his Mum and Dad watching on holding hands.  It was emotional so I decided to move on to the Brides house just round the corner.  A much calmer atmosphere with a very calm bride.  Then onto the church.
I have shot a few weddings at The Italian church in Clerkenwell before, but you cannot but be amazed at how magnificent it is with a glorious alter that makes for a spectacular  Backdrop.
The ceremony went very smoothly with a few tears from the bridesmaids.  I love a bit of emotion.
After the ceremony a few shots in the gardens at the Jumeirah Hotel in Kensington.  It was so lovely to have such a tranquil place right in the heart of London and made for some great shots.  If anyone is looking for a central London venue then certainly take a look.
Finally onto the reception which was organised by the excellent Perry's.  It was great to see how they worked behind the scenes to make the day perfect for Helen & Tony.  Job done.
